Who are the “New Guys” at KELP?

The news that KELP was going through a transition was first announced in February of this year, and we asked that you pray for the process. And now, we are happy to report that the transfer is complete and KELP is under new management.

The “new guys” are Andy Frecka and David Kaufmann. They both have a background in missions. Andy was born and raised in Ohio and moved to El Paso a little over 2 years ago, after living in Russia for 23 years. David first moved to the Borderland 20 years ago as a missionary in Juarez. He is now a business owner and active in the community and his local church. David will be providing a support and advisory role and Andy will be the new station manager.

Andy is the host of our Friday afternoon program (915) TALK. He recently had David as a guest and the discussion focused on continuing the legacy at KELP and deepening the station’s service and involvement in the community. If you missed that broadcast, be sure to click on this link and get to know Andy and David just a bit better.

We also sent out a newsletter to some of our station partners. You can download and read that letter by clicking on this link. If you didn’t receive that newsletter, and would like to be added to our mailing list, just let us know via the contact form.

Our goal is that as you continue to listen to KELP you will be assured that we remain fully committed to Biblical teaching and discussion. We are also excited to say that the whole team at the station is continuing on! Andy and David are particularly excited about that as they have a lot to learn. :)

As we move forward together, you will see that we will continue to broadcast all of your favorite Bible teachers. We are also adding Faith&Finance and In the Market with Janet Parshall, a program that challenges listeners to examine major news stories and issues being debated in the marketplace of ideas and speaks to them with the Word of God. We believe that these programming updates will be edifying to our current listeners and engaging to those who are just flipping through the radio dial. Our prayer is that they will stay tuned, and come to know the Lord in a personal way.

In the Market with Janet Parshall examines current events and ideas from a Christian perspective.

You can download the updated schedule (to be implemented July 8th) by following this link. Be sure to print this schedule and put it up on your fridge!

We hope that Faith & Finance will become part of your afternoon weekday listening!

If you’ve made it this far in this article, we know that you are a serious listener! Above all, we ask that you pray for us in this new season.

We can’t do this work without you. Please know that we pay careful attention to all feedback that is sent to us in the contact form.

Also, please give us a call at the station at 915-779-0016. We always love to hear from you, and you are always welcome to schedule a time to drop by for a station tour.

We hope that as you have taken the time to get to know us, that we will have the opportunity to get to know you better. May God bless our Borderland community through the ministry of KELP!
